The Rachel Ray Challenge
Never Cry Wolf Rescue and Adoptions is proud to help Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode with their Rachel Ray Challenge! We hope that those of you on Facebook will help them as well.
Please see the email we received below from Val Heimerich explaining this particular challenge.
As you may have heard (I’ve been boring everyone about this for quite a while!), Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode is in the finals of the ASPCA and Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. We are in the running for some grant money that will help save the lives of many more animals in this area, and have found homes for more than 1,200 cats and dogs in the last 12 weeks as part of the contest!.
From today until October 31st, we desperately need people to vote for Animal Outreach once a day in order to get some of the grant money. (The finals of the competition started Aug 1st and ends in two weeks on the last day of October; AO actually started the process of getting in to the contest last January.)
Last year AO did low/no-cost spay/neuter/immunizations for more than 10,000 pets and adopted out more than 2,500. This was done on a budget of around $516 thousand. One of AO’s geographically closest competitors in the contest, Marin Humane Society, had a budget of $7 million – and they adopted out fewer animals than AO. So these folks REALLY know how to use their money and resources wisely!
Until the 31st, people can vote once a day for AO – unfortunately they have to do so through Facebook, so only Facebook users can vote.It doesn’t matter where in the universe you live, as long as you have Facebook.
If you DO use Facebook (or are willing to start one now!), I’d really appreciate it if you’d vote for Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode every day at VoteToSaveLives.org.( https://apps.facebook.com/aspcavotingapp/). Please also ask your Facebook friends to do the same, and to “like” AO’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/AnimalOutreachRescue.
Whether or not you have a Facebook page, would you mind forwarding this email to others in your email address book? The more people that hear about it means more Facebook users will ultimately vote for Animal Outreach.
If you have any questions please feel free to call or email me (number is below). Some additional info about AO and the $100K Challenge – and a short, silly video I made – can be found at these links:
